Losing something of extreme value to you is a very devastating ordeal.

However, it seems to be a miracle when that certain item lost turns up in a surreal way.

When I was 12 years old, my older sister passed away. The day of her funeral, my grandmother gave me a necklace of a cross and she also placed the same one with my sister. I wore this necklace every day, never taking it off for almost two years. The one day I took it off in gym class so it wouldn't break, someone stole it out of my locker. Needless to say, I was heartbroken. My grandmother tried to find me another one but couldn't.

She passed away my senior year of college and I really wished I still had the necklace. This year marks the 10 year anniversary of my sister's death. In hopes of cheering me up, my best friend suggested we go to the water theme park near us for the day. On our way there, the sky kept getting darker and I was convinced it would be a short-lived day.

As we loaded stuff into our back packs, I unzipped the front pocket to put my cell phone in. Something caught my eye though. Reaching in, I found the necklace! Ten years later in a back pack I use on almost a weekly basis, I found the necklace that meant the most to me in the world. People must have thought I was a fool, crying and laughing in the parking lot of a water park but I just couldn't believe it.

I'm not a person who believed in miracles -- until now that I've been slapped in the face with one. All I know is that I will keep it safe from now on and be thankful it was brought back to me. Jessica
