This weekend is a big party weekend across New York State as people get ready to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.

With lots of parades and parties scheduled for this weekend, New York State Police announced that they will be increasing their DWI patrols and checkpoints starting on Friday.

The New York State Troopers' "STOP-DWI High Visibility Engagement Campaign" is a yearly campaign where they will increase DWI patrols and checkpoints around certain holidays and other dates where people might be more prone to drink and drive.

The St. Patrick's Day campaign will start this Friday, March 15th, and go until Sunday, March 17th. During the weekend you can expect to see more patrol cars on the roads and more DWI checkpoints across the state.
