The start of the work week will be a messy one for much of New York.

The rain from a massive storm front is making the switch over to snow and sleet as temperatures drop and winds pick up.

So far this morning it has been a dry start in Western New York but we will see that change slightly with some light snow expected.

Heavier snow is expected along Lake Ontario and in Northern New York this morning.

The brunt of the storm will be impacting Central and Eastern New York today. The rain has already started to change into snow and that will make for a very messy drive into work and school today.

Down in New York City, high winds will impact travel today. If you are flying in or out of one of the airports around New York City, you should double check your flight status before heading to the airport.

The best bet for today is to leave a little early and give yourself extra time to make it into work or school today.
