The windy weather is bringing in more than just some cool weather across New York State.


The smoke that we will see and smell in parts of New York won't be as bad as it was earlier this summer when the winds brought heavy smoke and haze from the wildfires that started in Canada.

Keep windows and doors closed.
Use fans and air conditioning to stay cool.
Avoid activities that create more fine particles indoors, including:
Smoking cigarettes. Using gas, propane, or wood-burning stoves and furnaces.
Don't use Spraying aerosol products, or burn candles and incense.
Don't vacuum, unless you use a vacuum with a HEPA filter.

Smokey The Bear said it best, "only you can prevent wildfires." Well, it's a lot easier said than done, Smokey. Great name for a bear trying to warn us about fire hazards, by the way.
