This past weekend was a very lucky one for someone in New York.

With over $1 billion dollars up for grabs with the Mega Millions and Powerball lottery games this weekend, it could have been very lucky for lottery players all across New York.

There were no grand prize winners for either Mega Millions or Powerball but one lucky New Yorker did win $1 million dollars.

According to the New York State Lottery, one lucky ticket sold in Queens New York matched all five numbers from Friday's Mega Millions drawing but missed the Mega Ball number. That ticket won $1 million dollars.

Saturday's Powerball drawing proved to be pretty unlucky for New York lottery players. There was no grand prize jackpot winner for the $968 million dollar jackpot. There were no "Big Money" winners either for Saturday Night's drawing.

Next week's Powerball and Mega Millions jackpots are worth over $1.3 billion dollars. The Mega Millions jackpot is up to $300 million dollars. The next Mega Millions drawing is coming up on Tuesday.

The Powerball lottery jackpot has breached the $1 billion dollar mark. Monday's grand prize jackpot is now up to an estimated $1 billion dollars. This will be the 4th time in the Powerball history that the jackpot has reached $1 billion or more. That last time someone won the Powerball jackpot was back in July of this year when someone in California claimed the $1.08 billion dollars jackpot.
