Why Is ABC Family Changing It’s Name to Freeform [VIDEO]

There are only a few television channels I can put on for my son Dylan and not worry about the programming content. Disney Channel, Nick Jr, and ABC Family are regulars in our household but now I'm wondering about ABC's new freeform attitude for this family friendly television station.

If you haven't heard, ABC Family is changing its name to 'Freeform' in January 2016 and it's apparently an effort to be more like ABC Family's audience, or, to be more “inquisitive” and to become a place to “grow."

Don't change that dial as ABC Family promises to stay at the same dial position, continue to bring us the 25 Days of Christmas and TV LINE reports:

ABC Family has made a (wonderful) habit of flooding our weekends with classic Disney movies from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Tangled — and that’s not ending anytime soon.
