Over the last seven months, as I transfer from Central NY to Western NY, I've slept at my sister's house, my uncle's house, my friend's house along within an efficiency apartment. It's hard to fall asleep in strange places and so I've used ZZZ quill, and the supplement melatonin to relax me. That should be reduced, here's why.

Melatonin was sold to me as “natural” and “safe” and a herbal supplement, so what could go wrong? Well, it can really screw up your regular sleeping pattern leading to some health issues.

According to a recent article in ScienceNow Daily News:

"Melatonin is a hormone. Like estrogen. Like testosterone. And just like taking estrogen (whether it’s Hormone Replacement Therapy or the Pill) or testosterone therapy, melatonin comes with risks"

 

"with melatonin regularly to get to sleep, and your body is going to produce even less, creating even greater need for the hormone"

So remember, when you fool your body, you're only fooling yourself as you may be doing more harm than good in the long run.

Try to become exhausted through exercise or by typical winding methods and naturally fall asleep to keep your body's normal rhythm.
