The 2022 Buffalo Bills are the trendy pick to win the Super Bowl. There's good reason for that, since the team has made the AFC Championship and AFC Divisional Round the last two seasons, they have retained most of their core pieces from 2021, and they have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, Josh Allen.

The Bills defense was also the top ranked unit from 2021 in yards allowed. They only had one missing piece and that was a star pass rusher. The Bills filled that hole with 10-year veteran, Von Miller.

Miller signed a massive, six-year, $120 million contract with $51.4 million guaranteed. The signing bonus was $18.5 million.

Miller's signing was huge news around the NFL and we did get an inside look into leading up to Miller signing with his YouTube video, along with the Bills embedded video into Miller's first 24 hours in Western New York after signing.

However, there was a lot of internal debate with Miller.

In a very interesting article from Dan Pompei from The Athletic, Miller had intentions of backing out of his verbal contract agreement with the Bills.

In fact, The Athletic uncovers that Miller told himself he would tell the Bills brass in person he was not signing with the team. Missing his Los Angeles teammates, the lack of direct flights and "sub-zero" weather were reasons why.

It wasn't until meeting with Sean McDermott, Brandon Beane and Leslie Frazier that Miller decided to follow through and commit to playing in Orchard Park.

The Dallas Cowboys were in the mix and Miller at one point thought he would take less money to play in Dallas.

Miller in the end said Buffalo "chose me" and said he thought the Bills would draft him with the 3rd overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, before the Denver Broncos came in at the 11th hour and selected him with the 2nd overall pick. The Bills took Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus, but it's common knowledge that general manager Buddy Nix would have taken quarterback Cam Newton or Von Miller if either one fell to them.

Now, Miller can become the first player in NFL history to play in and win the Super Bowl with three different teams.
