The Buffalo Bills are preparing for their game against the Carolina Panthers this Sunday at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park.

The Bills are fighting for a playoff spot. They're currently 7-6 and holding the final playoff spot in the AFC standings.

The Bills are coming off two straight losses and are looking to take advantage of a Carolina Panthers team who is 5-8 and 27th in yards per game on offense. The Panthers are actually second best in yards per game given up on defense in the NFL.

Bills quarterback Josh Allen was injured in the second half of the game this past Sunday in Tampa Bay. He was diagnosed with a foot sprain and listed as day-to-day on Monday by head coach Sean McDermott.

However, there's still uncertainty on whether or not Allen will start under center against Carolina.

Josh Allen spoke to the Buffalo media on Wednesday afternoon and spoke about his injury and whether or not he will ready to play.

Allen said they have a few more days to rehab the foot and that they will tackle the next few days at practice.

Allen did add that if he can play, he's going to be out there.

Allen and the Bills next play the New England Patriots on December 26th. The dilemma the Bills may face is that the foot could feel far better by next week if they let it heal this week and hold Josh out against Carolina.

However, the Bills are in a playoff fight and while backup Mitch Trubisky is more than capable of being out there, Allen's importance for any game is undeniable.

It will be interesting to see what happens this week. If I had to guess today, Allen still plays on Sunday, but the door is open to have him sit against Carolina to better heal the injury for the more important game against the Patriots after Christmas.
