Things That Could Ruin Your Job Chances

Did you know that your email address could be a factor in a job interview...not just whether you have one or not, but what it is...king_doobie@xxx.com may set you apart from the pack, but not in the way you want.

Here are some other items to keep in mind...

1. Being TOO FUN. Some people overdo it and act like they're talking to a friend      instead of a potential boss. So you want to be likable, but also professional.
2. Still using an embarrassing email address.  But even just using the wrong email host can make you look bad. In general, sites like AOL, Excite, and Yahoo are seen as less professional. Gmail is the new standard.
3. Not applying for the job properly in the first place. Read the job description            carefully, and do exactly what they say.
4. Being too serious in your interview. In general, we like working with people we enjoy being around.

A couple more things that I would recommend is to silence your phone so you are not tempted to check it during the interview and bring extra resumes.
