Oscar nominations came out Thursday morning, with films like 'American Hustle' and '12 Years a Slave' leading the way. You can probably bet that none of this weekend's new releases will figure into next year's Oscars, but that doesn't mean there won't be something you like. The four films opening wide on Friday cover a wide range of genres and styles, a little something for everyone.

Though ‘Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues‘ isn't due in theaters until the end of the year, in anticipation of the sequel to one of the most quotable films ever made, Ben and Jerry's Ice Cream have created a flavor in tribute to Will Ferrell's character Ron Burgundy. That flavor? Scotchy Scotch Scotch.

Katy Perry kicked off Fleet Week, which is always a surefire sign of summer and Memorial Day Weekend, in patriotic style. Wearing an American flag dress, the ‘Wide Awake’ singer performed for servicemen and women, looking lovely and American-made in a one-shouldered, stars and stripes concoction on Wednesday (May 23).

No Megan Fox, no problem — ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’ still managed to rock the box office this holiday weekend. The sexy star may not have returned for the third installment in the franchise, but it didn’t matter because director Michael Bay’s latest offering took in $116.1 million over the four-day holiday weekend, en route to winning the box office battle.
