Growing up in the northtowns, it was common for me to spend so much time around Niagara Falls Blvd. I grew up near E. Robinson Rd. near Sweet Home and Niagara Falls Blvd., and I can't even guess the amount of hours and days I spent in the first 20 years of my life stuck in traffic between E. Robinson and Sheridan Dr. on Niagara Falls Blvd.

I then moved to the southtowns, more specifically, to Hamburg. I now live in South Buffalo, so my everyday traffic experiences are mostly limited to Abbott Rd., Ridge Rd. and the I-90.

However, when I lived in Hamburg, Southwestern Blvd. was definitely the most frustrating road I drove down on a daily basis. I still do from time to time, since my parents still live Hamburg.

Southwestern Blvd. is more spread out than Niagara Falls Blvd., so that makes it slightly less infuriating to drive down (which you could say about most roads in the southtowns vs. the northtowns), but the one stretch I hated was between Camp Rd. and McKinley Pkwy.

There are seven lights in that short stretch of Southwestern Blvd, and if you drive during rush hour, it's much, much worse.

The Sowles light is close to the Camp, which routinely causes a backup of cars who get stuck at the red sight at Sowles and then the red light at Camp.

Then, there's McKinley and the Big Tree Road, which again, like the Sowles and Camp lights, can cause a traffic backup when they're not timed right.

It's a very short distance between Camp and McKinley (less than three miles), but it was a drive I made on almost a daily basis when I lived in Hamburg for four years and easily the least favorite drive I made in the southtowns, and still do to this day.
