$50,000 Powerball Winning Ticket Sold In Cheektowaga

One lucky person in Western New York was celebrating this weekend.

The New York State lottery announced that one 3rd place winning Powerball from this past Saturday was sold in Cheektowaga.

That ticket matched 4 out of 5 numbers and had the Powerball number.

The ticket was purchased at the Food Plus Market located on Cleveland Drive in Cheektowaga.

According to the New York State Lottery, there were 8 "Big Money" winning lottery tickets sold in New York State.

6 of those winners matched 4 out of 5 numbers and had the Powerball number. Each one of those tickets won $50,000.

The other two tickets also matched 4 out of 5 numbers and the Powerball number but they also had the Powerplay which was "Times 3" so those two tickets won $150,000 each.

Since no one won the grand prize jackpot, Monday's drawing is now worth $1.55 billion dollars.
