It looks like Mother Nature is bringing the cold just in time for Christmas weekend across New York State.

After some well above average temperatures the past several days, a massive cold snap is on the way and we could see the high temperatures drop over 20 degrees.

Monday was the last day with above-average temperatures this week in Western New York. The cold comes into the region starting today and lasts until Friday.

The same temperature drop that will happen in Western New York will also happen in Central New York. The temperature will also take a sharp drop heading into the weekend.

There is also a winter weather advisory for parts of Central New York today as well.

The cold air will be here but it won't help with a white Christmas. Most of New York will be green come Monday.
