As we cruise our way through June and head into July, it is almost time for lawn fete season here in Western New York.

If you grew up here in Western New York or have lived here for at least one summer you have seen signs posted all over town for lawn fetes.

From Queen of Heaven in West Seneca to St. John Paul's Lawn Fete in Lakeview anywhere you go in Western New York this summer you are bound to see people having a good time at a lawn fete.

For me, the best part of the lawn fete is the chance to win some cash with Pull Tabs. I remember growing up in West Seneca and every summer we would visit my cousins in Elma and head to the lawn fete out there on Clinton Street. I would always run over and buy some pull tabs. Trying to find three cherries was the ultimate dream for any kid in Western New York.

'Hit the Hay' This Fall With These 13 Great Upstate New York Hayrides

One of our favorite activities in the fall is to take a hayride. There is nothing like bundling up the little ones and piling onto a farmers wagon and then chugging around a farm, through a cornfield, up past an orchard, and back to the barn for a cold glass of apple cider.

Here are 13 top hayrides all around Upstate New York. And yes, two of them are 'not for the weak hearted!"
