After a scary few days in the southern tier, 36-year-old Keith Robbins is in custody.

Robbins is accused of shooting and killing his wife, Shari, in the overflow lot for Heritage Park last week.

Last night around midnight, Robbins was confronted by K-9 Officer "Mitchell" in the attic of a Todd Avenue home in the city, allegedly belonging to Robbins' father. The dog, Mitchell, was stabbed in the neck and rushed for surgery. The dog is expected to be okay.

Officers then engaged in an hours-long stand-off, ending around 6am when the suspect was apprehended. Robbins is currently being treated for a self-inflicted stab wound.

JPD says incorrect information on social media actually slowed the investigation, resulting in the long man-hunt.

The Chautauqua County District Attorney's offices says Robbins will likely be charged with murder and assault on a police officer.
