Heavy Lake Effect Snow Expected Across New York

There is good news and bad news when it comes to the weather for your Christmas Day.

The good news is that the Blizzard Warning has expired for many parts of New York. All across Western New York and in parts of upstate New York are no longer under a blizzard warning.

The bad news is that the winter storm is still impacting New York and most of the snow belt areas across the state are now under a Winter Storm warning.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, lake-effect snow is expected to continue throughout Christmas Day.

By the end of Christmas, we could see up to 24 inches of snow across some parts of the state.

Some places in the state are still under travel bans and traveling would be dangerous with white-out conditions still possible. If you do venture out, use caution and make sure that you have an extra blanket and food just in case you get stuck.
