- 1
Cooking Spray on Guac
Apparently, if you spray cooking spray on leftover guacamole -- or avocados in general -- it keeps it from turning brown better than lemon juice!
- 2
Potatoes and Onions Shouldn't Be Stored Together
Putting bananas in a paper bag with one apple will make the bananas ripen faster. But apparently, it's ONIONS that make potatoes sprout faster.
Conversely, storing potatoes with apples can actually prevents them from sprouting.
Don't ask me, it's science.
- 3
Wrap Banana Stems in Plastic Wrap
While they're still in a bunch, apparently this will keep them ripe 3-5 days riper, especially if they're organic.
- 4
Add a Paper Towel to Extra Salad
If you have leftover lettuce, put a paper towel over it (dry), then cover the bowl with plastic wrap. The towel is supposed to suck up moisture so your salad stays crisp.

Clean the Fridge
As gross as it can get, once something spoils in the fridge, it can leave mold behind...which can make other things go bad.
