Should the bars in Erie County start shutting down at 2 AM instead of 4 AM? Erie Country officials expect the idea not to pass the vote that is scheduled for Thursday.

Some bar owners were supportive of the idea and others thought that it would hurt many businesses, especially downtown Buffalo.

According to WGRZ:

The resolution's own sponsor told 2 On Your Side that he does not expect to get enough support from his fellow legislators or his own party.

Republican Legislator Ted Morton came up with the resolution to ask the state liquor authority to consider changing closing time at Erie County bars to 2 a.m. in October during his reelection campaign.

This was a couple of months after the Erie County Clerk started talking about the idea to make the roads safer. Morton says it is frustrating knowing that it probably won't pass.
