Erie County Sheriff Phone Scam Warning

The Erie County Sheriff's Office is issuing a warning to residents about a new phone scam.

WGRZ reports, "Authorities have received reports of a male pretending to be with the Erie County Sheriff's Office calling individuals about an "ongoing civil matter."

The Erie County Sheriff's Office assures this type of call is a scam, saying that if there was a civil matter, you would not be contacted by phone about it.
