Buffalo Man Pleads Guilty For Beating Elderly Woman To Death

A Buffalo has pleaded guilty to brutally killing an elderly woman to death at her home in Tonawanda. Erie County District Attorney John J. Flynn announced that the 24-year-old entered his guilty plea on the morning of Friday, April 29, 2022, before State Supreme Court Justice M. William Boller. Joshua E. Wilson was supposed to go to trial but pleaded out to one count of Manslaughter in the First Degree instead.

On May 4, 2020, Wilson beat the 71-year-old victim to death at her home on Yorkshire Avenue home in the Town of Tonawanda. At 11 pm, he took a gardening tool from Diane M. Wolfe's home and savagely beat her to death inside her house. After killing the victim, Wilson stole her car and items from her home.

He is facing a maximum of 25-years-behind bars. Wilson is due back in court on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at 9:30 am for his sentencing hearing. He has been held without bail.

This is such a heartbreaking situation. In my opinion, you have to be pure evil to beat an old lady to death inside her home using a garden tool. I am quite surprised the District Attorney allowed him to plead out rather than taking it to trial. Manslaughter seems like a pretty lenient charge for such a ruthless homicide. I wonder why the D.A. decided to give him that option? My heart goes out to the victim's family and loved ones.
