Buffalo Non-Profit Group Hosting Event on Women’s Health

Staying healthy in our current environment has been proving to be a challenging thing these last few years as we've been aging and this seems to be especially true for women. That's why a local non-profit group in Buffalo is teaming up with a bunch of other organizations and medical teams to host a seminar this week.

The Buffalo Brand of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) Health Committee is partnering with the Near East and West Side Taskforce, The Buffalo Urban League, The Hispanic Heritage Council, The Community Health Center of Buffalo, The Buffalo-Niagara Branch of the National Action Network, Kaleida Health, The Erie County Medical Center, and the John R. Oishei Children's Hospital to present African American Women and Reproductive Health, Menopause, and Mental Wellbeing: a free discussion with the public featuring experts who will answer questions about how COVID19 has effected African American women and their health.

The presentation will take place online on Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at 6 p.m., and will feature an estimated panel of experts that include: Dr. Emmekunla Nylander, M.D., Practicing Partner with Buffalo OBGYN, Melissa Spikes-Archer, R.N., Director of New York Project Hope in Buffalo, Jaye Wilson, CEO of Melanated Moms, and Ykeeta Henderson-Wilson, B.S.N., M.S., R.N., Kaleida Health's NYS Birth Equity Project.
