Several Big Money Winning Lottery Tickets Sold In New York

This weekend was a lucky weekend for lottery players in New York State.

The New York State Lottery announced that there were several "Big Money" winning lottery tickets sold in the state from Friday's Mega Millions and Saturday's Powerball drawing.

There were two third-place winning tickets sold in New York from Friday's Mega Millions drawing. Each one of those tickets matched four out of five numbers and had the Mega Ball. Each one of those tickets won $10,000.

The winning Mega Million numbers from Friday were: 05-23-26-38-44 with a Mega Ball of 25. No one claimed the $140 million dollar grand prize.

Saturday's Powerball Drawing led to a third third-place winning ticket in New York State. That ticket matched four out of five numbers and also had the Powerball number. That ticket won $50,000.

The winning Powerball numbers from Saturday were: 04-31-34-38-61 with the Powerball number of 13. No one claimed the $37 million dollar grand prize.

The Powerball is back in action tonight with a grand prize jackpot of $46 million dollars.

The Mega Millions drawing will take place tomorrow night. The grand prize jackpot for that drawing is up to $165 million dollars.

If anyone from New York were to win those jackpots, it would be nice, but they would be far from the largest-ever lottery jackpots won by a New York resident.

Harold Diamond held the record for the largest lottery jackpot in New York for seven years. He took home the Mega Millions jackpot in 2014.

2. $432 Million Dollars

This winning Mega Millions ticket was sold in September of 2021. The NY Lottery does not know who owns the tickets.

1. $476 Million Dollars

Johnnie Taylor took home the jackpot from the Mega Millions drawing in April of 2023.
