I've suffered from seasonal allergies my entire life. Every June the flying cottonwood does a number on my eyes and nose, as I try to navigate through the pollen and ragweed as well.

My allergies get so bad that I'm forced to have a box of Zyrtec in the house at all times.

If you're also an allergy sufferer, then you know that summer can be a tough time because of all the plantation, which is made even worse by a lack of rainfall. That has certainly been the case the last few weeks across Western New York.

According to WKBW, there is a very high count of both grass and pollen, along with a near high count of ragweed, which does not bode well for those who have seasonal allergies.

The good news is the rainfall today and tomorrow should provide some relief.

Spring and summer are typically the worst times of the year for me and my allergies. It's hard to describe to someone who doesn't have allergies just how debilitating they can be in the worst circumstances.

The good news is that fall is on the way and after that its winter, which I don't love but it at least provides relief from allergies. The problem there is there's more time spent inside and provides enhanced chances to catch a cold, the flu or COVID.
