Six Flags Darien Lake is without a doubt the modern-day gold standard amusement park in Western New York. From a sheer size standpoint, it's the gold standard. It has many roller coaster, and other exciting attractions in the countryside of Darien and Corfu, New York.
It was a disappointment when Fantasy Island closed in February of 2020, although efforts have happened since then to try and reopen the park.
But are there any other amusement parks that were popular in Western New York? To be honest, there's many many smaller ones since the late 1800s in the Buffalo region, although a few stand out above the rest.
