'The Fault in Our Stars' is expected to be named the No. 1 movie of the weekend when box office tallies are officially released tomorrow. Estimates put the drama at a $48 million dollar box office total for the weekend.
We're knee-deep in the summer movie season and the hits just keep on coming. Despite mixed buzz, 'Maleficent' opened very strong, not coming close to the massive numbers of the past few weekends, but certainly holding its own. However, the success of Disney's latest live action effort meant that the weekend's other big release, Seth MacFarlane's 'A Million Ways to Die in the West,' fared less well.
I was worried when I first heard that Walt Disney had decided to tackle 'Maleficent' in a live-action movie. She is one of the characters that I didn't like as a kid because I thought she was really evil!
