Donald Trump incited widespread panic among his many detractors when he first elbowed his way into the American presidency back in November. But even as matters got bleaker and bleaker, some tried to find a silver lining in the notion that a slide into fascism would at least yield some good ‘n’ furious protest art. Little did we know that the most searing indictment of Trump and his policies had already been scripted, completed, and released months before the noted reality TV star took office. I am referring, of course, to the complex political allegory Finding Dory.

Many of us thought its Golden Globes nominations were just a result of the HFPA’s always wacky taste, but it seems the Deadpool virus has spread across the nation to multiple voting bodies, from the Writer’s Guild of America to the Producers.

There’s nothing new or marvel about cute cuddly talking animals; they’ve been the center of animated feature films since the earliest days of animation. But in ‘The Secret Life of Pets,’ the age old shtick still works.

Although the holiday weekend brought out a slew of new releases to compete for the top spot at the box office, this week’s top 10 was, once again, dominated by Finding Dory. The Legend of Tarzan, The Purge: Election Year and The BFG ultimately couldn’t quite match up to Pixar’s forgetful fish, but the final results were all over the place. This chart is very much a roller coaster of expectations being met and missed.

Last night I had the opportunity to see the new Disney/ Pixar film 'Finding Dory' ahead of its upcoming release. 'Finding Dory' is the sequel to the popular 2003 film 'Finding Nemo', 13 years later we finally get to see how these beloved characters are doing...

Just yesterday a bunch of new photos introduced us to several of the characters from Finding Dory, including some totally cute sea otters (seriously) and a pair of sea lions voiced by Idris Elba and Dominic West (The Wire reunion!). But Pixar’s long-awaited sequel to Finding Nemo isn’t done casting (no pun intended) up yet, as former SNL star Bill Hader and current SNL star Kate McKinnon have joined the lineup.

With a new adventure comes new friends (and foes), and Dory will be meeting a whole host of unfamiliar faces in Finding Dory, Pixar’s long-awaited follow-up to Finding Nemo. As the title suggests, it’s the endearingly absent-minded blue fish who takes the spotlight this time around, but you’re already well-acquainted with Dory and her pals. It’s time to get to know a few of the other characters we’ll meet in the upcoming sequel.
