As if people struggling with their weight don't have enough to overcome, new research says being too nice may hurt your ability to eat sensibly in social settings!

The research was done at Cleveland's Case Western Reserve University. The study discovered that people who like to maintain a sense of "comfortability" - frequently known as "people pleasers" - will eat at social events whether or not they're hungry, in an effort to maintain the social balance. If people are eating large amounts of food, people pleasers will usually eat a lot as well.

The research is published in the Journal of Social and Clinical Psychology.
