Famous Local Celebrity Got A Sweet Surprise From The Buffalo Bills

We’ve had our eye on Chad Michael Murray since the early 2000’s, but he’s only had eyes for the Buffalo Bills.  

The famous actor, known for starring in the teen TV drama One Tree Hill and films like A Cinderella Story and Freaky Friday, was born and raised in Buffalo, New York, and like the majority of Western New York residents, grew up a diehard Bills fan. 

Murray has been a season ticket holder for over 20 years, and is frequently spotted at Highmark Stadium rooting on his favorite team. So when the Bills surprised him with something special earlier this week, you can imagine how thrilled he was.

Chad Michael Murray Surprised On Live TV By His Favorite Team

While promoting his new movie Mother Of The Bride on Tuesday morning’s Today Show, the anchors brought up Murray’s obsession with the Buffalo Bills, and it all led to a very sweet gesture from the team.

“You’re pretty hardcore, huh?”

“OH yeah...”

“Well, here’s the thing– they love you back!”

Murray’s face turned from confusion to happily surprised when a Today Show staffer brought over a huge blue gift bag (with red tissue paper coming out of it, of course) as anchor Shenelle Jones commented, “Apparently they wanted to make sure you had some special merch to wear.”

Murray was obviously pumped when he pulled out a brand new Buffalo Bills jersey, customized with his own name and the number 24 (the date of his birthday) on the back. You could tell he really loved the surprise gift, and even got mildly emotional afterwards. 

“This is so sweet guys; thank you. We are diehard in our family. We are live and die…we were actually at the playoff game this past December. I cried for like a week.”

Yup, been there, Chad! We hope to see you and your custom kit at the home opener.
