Snow is on the way to New York State and depending on where you leave it could be a dusting to over a foot of snow.

A major weather front is moving through the state starting this Wednesday and it looks like we will have rain and snow across the state through Friday night.

Starting in Western New York, the snow will move in late Wednesday and there could be a couple of inches of snow by Friday Night.


The majority of heavy snow will be in Central and Northern New York with some locations expecting up to a foot of snow by the weekend

Downstate and in New York City, it looks like the temperatures will be below average and it will be very windy.

 

There is a Gale Warning in place from Wednesday from 6 am until Thursday at 2 am. There will be winds of between 25 and 35 knots with wind gusts up to 45 knots.

The Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Travel across the state could be impacted by the weather as well this week, so if you are traveling, give yourself extra time to reach your destination.
