As we head into the summer, Western New York is preparing for the return of live concerts. We basically haven't had live concerts on a large scale in Western New York since 2019, and many people are itching to see shows again.

Artpark is a tradition for many and features some of the biggest names in music. However, if you want to go to a large concert at Artpark this summer, you better be fully vaccinated.

According to WKBW, Artpark is requiring people who attend large concerts this summer to be fully vaccinated. Those are concerts of more than 500 people.

Artpark says the decision was made after reviewing New York State's most recent reopening mandates. They felt it was in their best interest to require only fully vaccinated patrons to attend large-scale concerts this summer.

Artpark also said these requirements will remain in effect until there's a change in the state mandates.

What you need to know before going:

Anyone who is 16 or older will be asked for proof of vaccination; either with your Excelsior pass on your phone, or with your vaccination record card. Your I.D. will also be required. Your vaccination must be at least two weeks before the date of the concert you're attending.

Those who buy tickets and are not vaccinated will be able to get a full refund.

Some of the concerts and events that will be over 500 people include Blackberry Smoke, Fitz and the Tantrums, Chicago, Brothers Osborne, Joe Russo's Almost Dead, Wilco + Sleater Kinney, Blues Traveler, and the Strawberry Moon Festival.

Those events run from June 19th through August 30th.
