A special night for a combat-wounded soldier at Monday night's Buffalo Sabres game.  Military Warriors Support Foundation (MWSF) in partnership with Walmart presented retired U-S Army Sergeant Lapatrick Black with the ceremonial key to a beautiful mortgage-free home provided by MWSF at center ice.

Sergeant Black was wounded in Iraq when his convoy was hit by an IED (Improvised Explosive Device) and is the recipient of the Purple Heart.  He joined the Army in 2006 because he wanted to do his part to serve his country.  He was assigned to the 1st Infantry Division and provided security for convoys and top military and state department officials.

Sergeant Black grew up in a military family that always supported other military families.  His family often sent out care packages and letters to soldiers serving overseas.

MWSF and Walmart say they're honored to present the deed to a new home to a true American hero.
