WNY Haunted Manor Will Be Featured On The Travel Channel

It's that time of year -- spooky and haunted attractions are hugely popular right now and there's one manor in Western New York that's said to be haunted.

The manor is the Graestone Manor Bed and Breakfast in Gasport and will be featured on the Travel Channel tonight, according to WIVB.

When Heather and Robert Mattison bought the house, they didn't know they were purchasing a potentially haunted manor.

“We didn’t know until we actually moved in that there was activity here,” said Heather Mattison.  “Then we started seeing things, shadow people and hearing our names be called.”

The house was built in 1865 by Curtis Root, who was a horse breeder and racing enthusiast. He died in one of the rooms called the "green room", after a horcing accident.

“We’ve had a hard time with that room,” she said.  ” You always feel very iced out or cold.  Even in the summer it’s a cold presence.”

There are over 50 rooms in the manor, with doors randomly opening and closing. The basement is where the show, “Most Terrifying Places in America" had their paranormal experience, which you can see tonight at 10 p.m. on the Travel Channel.
