Ahead of a major winter storm that will roll through Western New York over the next 24 hours, a winter weather advisory has been issued.

The Winter Weather Advisory will go into effect for the Southern Tier and Southern Erie County starting at Noon today while the rest of Western New York will be under the advisory starting at 6 pm.

Snow and ice are going to be the two main issues we will see during this storm. It looks like this storm will impact the Northern part of Western New york more than the Southern part.



Now would be a good time to make sure you have everything you need just in case the power goes out. The amount of ice expected could down power lines and cause power outages across the area.
