Western New York awakens to a fresh coating of snow this morning, about three inches fell across all of Western New York overnight.  Meteorologist Mike Randall described this as a general snowfall, unlike the last few that have been of the Lake Effect variety.

While inconvenient this pales to the snow that hit the Southern U.S. Sunday and Monday, and the snow that is expected in Boston, New York City and Washington today.

Some outgoing flights have been canceled at Buffalo Niagara International Airport, check your carrier this morning if your are heading to NYC, Boston or the D.C. area.

Another 1-3 inches of snow is expected around the Niagara Frontier today, with slightly more near Lake Ontario.  Snow should wind down before the evening commute.
