While on one match all the winning numbers for last night's $1 billion dollar Powerball drawing, that doesn't mean that there are some new millionaires in New York.

Two winning tickets were sold in New York which has turned some New Yorkers into instant millionaires.

According to Syracuse.com, a winning ticket worth $2 million dollars was sold at Parkway Drug in Utica. so if you have any friends who live or got a Powerball ticket in Utica, call them up and be really nice. They could be an instant millionaire.

The other winning ticket was worth $1 million dollars and that ticket was sold at a 7-11 in Westchester County inside the village of Elmsford.

While both these prizes are well short of the grand prize jackpot of $1 billion dollars, I don't think that anyone would pass up a million or two dollars.

The next Powerball jackpot will be the 2nd largest in Powerball history. The estimated jackpot for Wednesday's drawing is $1.2 Billion dollars. The jackpot would also be the 4th largest in lottery history.

Here are the jackpots that were bigger.

$1.337 billion Mega Millions jackpot - Once again only one ticket was sold for this billion-dollar jackpot. It was sold at a gas station in a Chicago suburb on July 29, 2022.

$1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot - There was only a single winner for the 2nd largest jackpot in lottery history. The winning ticket was sold in South Carolina on Oct. 23, 2018.

$1.586 billion Powerball jackpot - The largest jackpot in Lottery history was split three ways as three winning tickets were sold for the Jan. 13, 2016 drawing. The winning tickets were sold in California, Florida, and Tennessee.
