There was no grand prize jackpot winner for last night's $1.2 billion dollar Powerball drawing but that doesn't mean there wasn't a big winner.

Officials with the Powerball lottery announced that one winning ticket worth $1 million dollars was sold in New York.

In order to win the million-dollar prize, you needed to match all five white balls but missed the Powerball number. The winning numbers were 2-11-22-35-60

Over 7.2 million tickets sold for last night's Powerball drawing won cash prizes totaling $74.9 million dollars. 16 tickets sold nationwide matched all 5 white numbers and were million-dollar winners.

Million-dollar winning tickets are becoming common here in New York. After Monday's drawing, there was a $2 million winning ticket sold in Utica while a million-dollar ticket was sold just outside New York City.

The next drawing for the Powerball is coming up on Saturday. This will be the 40th consecutive drawing where there hasn't been a jackpot winner. If no one claims the jackpot on Saturday, it would be a record-break streak of 41 straight drawings. The last time the Powerball jackpot was won was back on August 3rd. One winning ticket was sold in Pennsylvania.

Saturday's estimated jackpot will be the 2nd largest in Powerball history. The largest was $1.586 billion dollars.

Saturday's Powerball jackpot would also be the third largest in lottery history. The 2nd largest was the $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot.
