This past Sunday something happened in Wyoming County that has never happened before. A winner was declared in the first-ever "Best in Show" firetruck competition.

The "Best in Show" competition was held as part of the 2nd annual "We've Got your 6: Ride & Rally - Wyoming County 1st Responders Run".

The ride and rally took place Sunday morning and had around 200 motorcycles, cars, trucks, semi-trucks, and fire trucks in the parade.

Wyoming County Sheriff Deputy Dan Kemp led the way for the ride while New York State Troopers were the tails of the parade and kept everyone in the parade and spectators safe.

There were vendors and door prizes along with raffles. Overall the event raised over $1000 for the Wyoming County "Shop with a Cop" program.

Of course one of the main features was the first-ever Fire Truck "Best in Show" competition. The "Best In Show" firetruck competition will be based on a popular vote based on the public. Each fire truck in the competition will have a boot in front of it and people voted for your favorite truck by dropping in a monetary donation. The truck with the most money at the end of the day was declared the winner and take home the title of Wyoming County’s Best in Show!

1st place went to Pike Fire Department
2nd place went to Wyoming Hook and Ladder Company.

Overall the six fire companies that participated raised over $500 for their departments.

With such a great turnout the organizers of the  "We've Got your 6: Ride & Rally - Wyoming County 1st Responders Run" expect to bring back the "Best in Show" event next year. We will see if Pike Fire Department can repeat as champs.
