There are no green thumbs in my house. Generally, any type of annuals I may plant in the spring don't make it through the summer. I had basically given up on having any sort of flowers to enhance the curb appeal of our home. Then, I found a daylily!

We had a couple of small shrubs near our front porch that sadly didn't make it through the winter. We looked around a bit and found the two expensive to replace with the same type of shrub, with no guarantee the new ones would survive. A few people recommended we try daylilies. I found a decent size daylily at a nearby nursery for $10 and bought two. Jerry and I planted them back in late May. Wow, did these plants take off! I have had beautiful yellow flowers all summer long beside our front steps! Yes, even with the drought! We plan on planting a few more daylilies next year to add some color and help with curb appeal. You can't be the price or the look in my book!

I'd love to hear your landscaping tips! (Especially ideas for those of us who lack a green thumb!)
