Kristen Keane has spent Thanksgiving mornings watching Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade as far back as she can remember. Tomorrow, we'll get to watch the 17-year-old in the big march!

Keane, a senior at West Seneca West, was selected to play piccolo in Macy's Great American Marching Band. The 185-member squad is an all-star collection of high school marching band members from across the US.

Kristen, who's hoping to attend the Eastman School of Music in Rochester after graduation, is very versatile; she only began playing the piccolo about a year ago, after playing the flute since fifth grade. Keane also is a part of West Seneca West's concert band, jazz band, and wind ensemble. She was drum major this year for the three-time state champion West Seneca West marching band.

Ironically, Keane chose to play flute in her audition tape for the Great American group, and agreed to play piccolo at the request of Band officials.
