My daughter Erin  is getting married in less than a week. So now it’s crunch time. So many things to finalize. After much thought for many months. We decided to go with silk flowers for the wedding.

The wedding will be a beach wedding at Presque Isle in Erie, Pa. So in looking at flowers, we wanted something that could stand up to an outdoor wedding with the breezes coming off Lake Erie. Plus silk flowers today look so real! My daughter chose blue, ivory, and orange Tiger Lilly’s. The brides colors are orange and ivory, the bridesmaids are blue, with orange and ivory ribbon. The groom’s boutonniere is orange, blue and ivory. Both the father’s boutonniere will be orange and blue. My wife did a great job of making the silk flower arrangements.

The other nice thing about silk flowers is you can take them home and put them in a vase as a remembrance of the wedding.

So what do you think? Which are better? Silk flowers or real flowers? Leave me your comments!

I’ll have updates as we approach the big day this Saturday on all the last minute details that need to be finalized!
