A new study from Penn State University said people need 8 and a half hours of sleep every night.

Modern life is becoming more and more stressful. Job security, divorce, arguments with others, worries about bills, custody, taxes, health, etc... can all contribute to our lack of sleep. Because the majority of us toss and turn during the night, the new study suggests that we need 8 and a half hours of sleep because we spend a half hour tossing and turning and thinking about our everyday life.

I am lucky if I get 6 hours a night right now. I do tend to toss and turn at night. Let's not forget, some nights, our kiddos like to sneak into our beds and wake us up because they had a "nightmare" or they want to "snuggle with us." I don't mind those times at all, but it does interrupt my sleep pattern.

Researchers say even getting an extra half an hour of sleep will do a body good. People function better and handle stressful situations better.

Get some sleep, Buffalo!
