WATCH: Nebraska Football Honors Military in Chilling 9/11 Video
College football is back this fall, and the Buffalo Bulls are already into the full swing of things, with their next game scheduled against the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Sept. 11, otherwise known as 9/11.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the horrific terrorist attack that reshaped the world. In preparation of this match up on 9/11, the Nebraska Cornhuskers are gearing up to wear alternate uniforms for the game -- and they even released a special video to debut those special white camo uniforms.
The video is more focused on honoring first responders and the military rather than focusing on the uniforms for the 9/11 game.
In the video, you will see one player in particular carrying a flag. That player is Damian Jackson, more notably remembered as a former Navy SEAL. Jackson was also a 3-time Academic All-American walk on for the Cornhuskers.
You will also see police officers, war veterans, and fire-fighters appear throughout the video. Watch it below.
Nebraska Football also shared the video on their Twitter page, with a tweet that said, “To all current & former service members & all first responders, thank you. #NeverForget.”
One person commented on the YouTube video and said, “Thanks for this essential reminder of who we are as Americans.”
The Nebraska Cornhuskers will play the Buffalo Bulls on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 3:30 pm, and that game will be played at Memorial Stadium. You can still watch the match up on the Big Ten Network (BTN).
After the last few weeks, we need to let our veterans and first responders know that we appreciate them -- maybe now more than ever. Never Forget.
Thank you, veterans and first responders. Thank you for your service. #NeverForget.
