I use the term loosely, because I'm not sure that's what you'd actually call it.

I'm not good AT ALL, but since I'm now 42, I feel like it's a bit of a rite of passage into things you start to do during the summer rather than bake in the sun and drink all day.  Not that I'm not still a fan of what my younger-self indulged in (there's always time for drinks and sun in my book!) but picking up my clubs for the first time in 3 years just felt right.

So when we had a nice warm evening last week, my BF, Mark, and I went to Shawnee Country Club to play a few holes before it got dark.

Again, I'm not good.  I've never taken lessons (as you'll see by my swing below), I use my mom's old clubs, I wear a glove that's 2 sizes too big, and I don't have golf shoes.  I DID, however, have a "golf shirt"...so I felt official.  (BTW, I'm a Foundation board member for  Community Services for the Developmentally Disabled, and our golf tournament is coming soon! Will give you details soon!)

So...do you have a good swing?  Can you give me pointers?  And where's your favorite place to golf in WNY?  (I've got a nasty habit of taking a Par 3 and making it a Par 8, so please, be gentle...)
