Vaccine Eligibility…There’s An App For That: Tell Me Something Good
As COVID-19 vaccines are heading into the arms of Western New Yorkers, you may be wondering when it will be your turn to get vaccinated.
A report on NEWS 4 (WIVB-TV) says New York State has a new “Am I Eligible” app which will help you determine when you will be eligible for the vaccine. The app will then connect you with where you can get the shot and allow you to schedule an appointment.
Vaccines are being given to the most vulnerable and frontline workers first and New York is currently in Phase 1A of the federal government’s vaccine rollout plan.
This includes patient-facing hospital healthcare workers, nursing home and assisted living facility residents and staff, EMT volunteers and staff, and those who are administering the vaccine.
Details of the next phase have not yet been released, but according to the CDC’s website, people of all ages with underlying illnesses that put them at significant risk and older adults will be the next to be vaccinated*.
