Most of us spent some time on Saint Patrick's Day (Weekend) celebrating in some fashion.  Buffalo had two parades, one Saturday and the big one Sunday.

Green bagels, beer, clothing, eyes (well maybe red-eyes would be more appropriate), all fun right? Fun until someone makes a call to Police...

Here are some "interesting" St. Patrick's Day Police calls from around the nation:

  • Caller to 911 reported people on the the property, destroying her gardens, and shaking trees.  Patrol spoke with caller who said that elves were shaking her trees. Patrol reported no elves were seen; checks were made on area and if elves are seen patrol to advise to knock it off.  (Lewiston-Porter Sentinel)
  • On St. Patrick's Day 2010, First State Bank in Gallatin, near Nashville was held up by a man dressed as a leprechaun. (Oddee)
  • Nearly 1,000 students from Cal Poly in California, were partying at a "St. Fratty's Day" party when a garage roof belonging to the university's baseball coach collapsed, injuring 8, out of the 30 reportedly on the roof. According to those at the scene the students were "Brewfing" – a term coined by San Luis Obispo students to describe the act of sitting on top of a roof while drinking beer. (Oddee)
  • The arrest of a drunk and out-of-control teen at a St. Patrick's Day parade in NYC is probably not news, but a 19 year old from Mariners Harbor, New York, was not feeling "the luck of the Irish" after being accused of punching a police officer during a St. Patrick's Day Parade. The teen was alleged to have sucker-punched a police officer who was trying to disperse a crowd during the parade. He also reportedly grabbed the officer's $400 pair of prescription eyeglasses from his face and crushed them with his hands. The teen, has said following the disturbance he was roughed up in Police custody.  (Oddee)

Let's hope your Saint Patrick's Day was celebratory, but less chaotic.
