Buffalo continues its resurgence by getting picked to host UFC 210 on April 8th at the Key Bank Center!  This is a major deal and highlights that Buffalo is a city back on the rise.  If you are not sure what UFC is CLICK HERE.

Buffalo last hosted the UFC in 1995, when it was a fledgling sport and didn't garner the level of national and international attention that it does now.  The reason for the length of time in between events has nothing to do with Buffalo, it was because New York State banned Ultimate Fighting.  That ban was lifted last year.

I lived in Las Vegas for 10 years and was fortunate enough to attend many of the UFC events.  I say fortunate because it can be a fortune to go.  Ticket prices to some of the main events ranged from $300 - $900, and that was for normal seats.  I happened to work at the Hotel Casino that would hold many of the events so I would slip in for free.

Ticket information has not been released yet for this event other than the date and location.  I doubt we will see the prices I encountered in Las Vegas, but they will not be cheap.  This is like having a mini Superbowl in your city.  The stars will come and it will be televised around the world.  Fortunately the Bills can't lose this one!

The UFC is a brutal sport, so if you decide to go be prepared to see some blood.  In 2006 I saw an event where a fighters head got cut and was spurting blood.  It was gory and made the ring look like something out of a horror movie.  Needless to say, it was awesome!

This is a big win for Buffalo, and I am excited that we have another opportunity to be on one of the world's biggest stages.  Let's put on a show!
