Two U.S. Postal Carriers have been implicated in a drug trafficking ring that could send them to prison for decades.

The U.S. Attorney's Office announced on Thursday that 56-year-old Dennis Bernhard and 25-year-old Briana Fugate were arrested and charged with multiple crimes in relation to an uncovered drug ring.

Two employees of the federal government have been implicated in a drug trafficking ring that could land them behind bars for decades.

FBI agents were brought in to investigate the two Buffalo mail routes after learning that Bernhard and Fugate were accepting bribes to transport mailed boxes of drugs from the West Coast. The carriers were then handing the boxes off to an operative in exchange for a $250 payment per box.

Authorities say that Briana Fugate was also taking some of the boxes to sell on her own.

Both postal carriers have been charged with multiple counts of bribery, but Fugate faces additional charges of possession with intent to distribute and distribution of marijuana.
