The Buffalo Bills kick off training camp today at 10 am, beginning their 2021 season campaign at One Bills Drive.

Everyone is expecting the Bills to be a contender in the AFC and challenge for a Super Bowl.

Bills general manager Brandon Beane spoke with the Buffalo media this morning before practice began, and updated the status of players who would not be practicing or with the team.

Edge rusher Jerry Hughes is nursing a calf injury, which landed him on the non-football injury list. He injured his calf while training and did not pass his physical.

Also, two starting Bills offensive linemen start training camp on the NFL's COVID-19 Protocol list: Dion Dawkins and Ike Boettger.

Both are breakthrough infections since both were vaccinated, according to Chris Brown. It's not clear when they will be removed from the protocol list.

Jon Scott of Spectrum News Buffalo says, however, that Beane said one player is vaccinated and one is not.

Beane also said just over 80 percent of the team has received at least one vaccine dose. All coaches on the Bills are fully vaccinated and as far as Beane is aware, only one staff member is not, and that is because of a legitimate exemption.

The Bills' first open practice will take place this Saturday in front of fans at Highmark Stadium.

It's great to see the Bills back at training camp and even though many miss the camps at Saint John Fisher in Rochester, it's cool to see the Bills at training camp in Orchard Park.
