EXTRA: Did you get a snowmobile for Christmas??

New York State has added a new Holiday Hunt for deer hunters that has pushed back the start of the snowmobile season in our area. It is a moot point this year because of the lack of snow that we are facing in Western New York. But when the snow starts to pile up and the trails open (based on landowner and club approval) there are some things you should keep in mind when you hop on your sled for the first time this year.

Everything You Need To Know For Snowmobiling In WNY

There are some amazing clubs inn the Western New York area that keep the trails in top condition.

This year has been wet and warm in the late fall. Now that the winter has officially arrived, the weather pattern has not changed much. If you have a sled, I completely understand the frustrations that you are facing. There were some who were upset about the NYS DEC extending the deer hunting season beyond Christmas. In other years, if there was snow, the trails would be open and a good Christmas day ride was always fun. We will have to wait until after 1/1/2022 and for Mother Nature to cooperate.

Snowmobiling is so much fun. But it can be dangerous if you are not prepared or know a few things first. There is a youth class that is coming up in January and would be a great way for your kids to learn the basics and get a handle on the ins and outs of being on a sled. Details below.
